Our Style Icon

We've been thinking about muses lately here at Elaine Curtis and who we would like to most dress also.

We talked about whose style we admired and the same name came up for us all- the ever stylish, never over done, often copied but never equalled Audrey Hepburn. To us her style sums up what we are all about at Elaine Curtis- chic, timeless clothes that you can put your own stamp on, with the odd exception that keeps people guessing obviously!

Here are our instore & online picks of what  we feel epitomises Audrey's inimitable style...
The iconic image is still inspirational to many women.
Nobody wore a black dress quite like Audrey; managing to make it look demure yet at the same time sophisticated and with just a hint of coquette.
Our Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti dress ticks all the boxes a black dress should; just figure hugging enough that it could be worn to any event. The sleeves and ruching at the midriff mean it is forgiving also.

Jeans have been worn the world over by everyone at some stage in their lives.
Make sure your pair fit you right (no over spill ladies) and are smart enough to wear  with heels or flats, depending on the occasion. MIH  are the jeans label of choice at Elaine Curtis. Their populairt really does know no bounds.

Every girl should own a white cotton shirt.
This one from Irish duo Lennon & Courtney's debut collection is classic with a twist of double cuffs
and extra wide seams to the front  which cleverly prevents gaping.

A staple piece for every girls jewellery collection.
Our Rada pearls have details of fringing, contrast coloured  beads and studding to keep them bang on trend.

No one likes to be predictable and a red dress is always a little unexpected and slightly risque.
This beautiful lace dress from Just In Case is demure enough to wear to a wedding but the slightly lower
than normal v to the back adds a little je ne sais quoi.

We hope this has given you some ideas of how sometimes, simple really is best.
And when you're next having a wardrobe dilemma, ask yourself one question, what would Audrey wear?
You won't go far wrong that way!
